Bring your REELS to show - if you are hiring, come check out who is presenting a reel

Peter Litwinowicz co-owner and co-founder of REVISION FX
http://www.revisionfx.com/

Peter will Demo De:Noise
a plugin set that removes excessive noise and artifacts in one easy-to-use tool. DE:Noise handles spurious frame-to-frame defects ranging from fine digital and electronic noise to blotchy spots (e.g. dirt on the film). DE:Noise combines optical flow techniques with feature-sensitive, edge-preserving spatial filtering methods to reduce the visual impact of various problems such as: noisy video (that can happen with low-light capture), excessive film grain, CG renders affected by ray-tracing sampling artifacts, fingerprints and dust captured during film scan/transfer and printing, snow, drop-outs and many other defects

a copy of DE:Noise will also be generously offered in the Raffle

Adam Wilt :
Scanning Stills in Adobe Photoshop for use in Apple's Final Cut Pro

How to Scan Stills and get them to look the way you want, be sized correctly and have appropriate resolution, has been one of the longest running and recurring issues on SF Cutters' Cutter-Talk. A live in person demo from Adam Wilt.

Bring your photos to be scanned! We will need a few: Transport them safely - on your own responsibility.

More about Adam Wilt who is currently writing reviews for "Pro Video Coalition"

Adobe Systems will be giving away a full copy of Photoshop CS3 Extended in the Raffle.

Mitchell Rose : Award winning Director, Editor and Film Educator
will speak to us about his comedic work and editing aesthetics

Many SF Cutters have asked for breakdowns in "How to edit" "What is the best timing" "Talk about visual language". " Something beyond than the technical". Mitchell Rose graduated from Tufts University as the school's first Dance major. Mitchell had entered as an Engineering student. Mitchell's work reflects a deep sense of art, wit and precision, and it is sure to please an SF Cutters' special sense of geek/artistry, When Mitchell presented at SF Cutters last year, he had a huge response and ovation. His recent production of "The Mitch Show", at Walt Disney Concert Hall's REDCAT Theate at CAL Arts was sold out. Mitchell is a frequent presenter at LAFCPUG in Los Angeles. Please welcome Mitchell Rose and tell your friends.

SF Cutters is the World's first Apple Final Cut Pro User Group forming in March of 2000.

That's right, the concept of a DV User Group, complete with networking, screenings and tech info centered around Apple Final Cut Pro was born right here in San Francisco. Currently there are 66 chapters of Final Cut Pro and ProApps User Groups based upon our model. We are proud to be the founders of this exciting movement, dubbed in 1999 as "The DV Revolution". Viva!

SF Cutters meets monthly in San Francisco and the Bay Area Feb thru Oct, the schedule may vary from year to year.
